Folded name cards (also called tent cards) stand up on their own, so they're easy to read from across a table. You can print the name on the front only, or on both sides so people sitting opposite can read it too. That's especially handy for meetings, panels and classrooms.
Flat name cards lie on a plate, lean against a glass or tuck into a folded napkin. They also work as escort cards on a seating table.
Every layout prints on standard card stock, then you cut along the guide lines.

Upload your attendee list from Excel or a spreadsheet and print name cards for everyone in one PDF, whether that's 10 people or 500. Put a company or job title on the second line, print names on both sides of folded cards, and add your logo. The corporate event designs and minimalist designs work well for business events.
Mostly the name. "Place cards" usually means cards marking where each guest sits at a wedding or dinner. "Name cards" can also mean name tents for meetings and events. You can make either kind here.
Yes. With any foldable layout, set the text Placement to "Both sides". The back is printed upside down so it reads the right way up once the card is folded.
Use heavy card stock so the cards stand up well. Matte white or ivory is a safe choice, and kraft paper suits rustic designs. Our guide to DIY printing covers paper choices in more detail.
The name card maker is free to use, and some designs are free to download. Premium designs and logos are a one-time $7.95 per set of cards to download without the watermark. There's no subscription.
